This will cause his “In The Midst Of Beauty” tour to be postponed until June-July. Tickets for current dates will be honored at the rescheduled ones, the first of which are as follows: 6/09/09 W. HOLLYWOOD, CA – KEY CLUB More dates will be added in the coming days including additional cities/venues and festival appearances! 2.14.09 UPDATE: US Tour with MSG, Get Killer Tone DVD, DD on Guitar Hero on Tour game US TOUR WITH MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP: It's time for another road trip with our friends in MSG. I'm playing the support slot on all shows with the exception of the HOB show in Chicago where my buddies (and hometown heroes) Enuff Z Nuff will be playing support, with us opening the show! Every show is a meet and greet so make a point of saying hi! Get Killer Tone DVD: It's official - when I get back from the MSG tour I'll be shooting the next title in the Guitar 411 DVD series. This year's highlgihts included catching all of Lincoln Brewster's sections. You're never too old to pick up some new tricks and if you're gonna get some, Lincoln is a great guy to grab 'em from! This July, guitar masters Steve Smyth (Nevermore, Testament), Doug Doppler (Guitar Hero), and L.A. fretmaster Adrian Galysh are bringing Shredstock to venues across California. Six guitar filled nights featuring a 45 minute set from each artist are guaranteed to satisfy the guitar fanatic in you. And if you’ve got the goods, you could open up the show if you’re a winner in the the Shredstock Viral Video Contest! About Shredstock: Shredstock’s roots lie in guitar legend Uli Jon Roth’s Sky Academy Concert series, where Steve, Doug, and Adrian were invited to join the founding father of both the Scorpions and Neo-Classical Rock on stage. From there they joined forces and created Shredstock. According to Doppler, “The impact of Guitar Hero has been nothing short of amazing in terms of inspiring multiple generations of guitar players. There are so many players at home chomping at the bit to jump up on a real stage with a live audience. I will be discussing my various methods of madness ranging from technique to soloing to recording, as well as some of my ideas of how to approach playing various styles. This issue is currently on the news stands... CANADA: I'll be in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada this weekend giving a series of workshops as part of Break Forth Canada. On Friday night I will also be hosting the Guitar Zone event which is open to both Break Forth attendees as well as the general public. Hope to see you there. IBANEZ S 24 PRESTIGE: Two weeks ago I was in L.A. shooting the promo video for the new Ibanez S 24 Prestige guitar that was debuted at NAMM. It is an amazing guitar and the video will be up soon on the Ibanez web site. 12.25.07 UPDATE: Australian Guitar Magazine, NAMM, Canada Merry Christmas to all! The new issue of Australian Guitar Magazine is out and includes a super cool 4-page interview and video lesson. I've been in the studio doing more work for WaveGroup Sound, and will be off to the NAMM show once again in January - shortly before I return to Canada for Break Forth. I don't have a release date, but there are some other great players on this disc, including Jimmy Page himself!!! 7.27.07 UPDATE: Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's After many months of secrecy I am pleased to announce that I contributed tracks for six songs for Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80's, which was released this past Tuesday. The number of hits is pretty shocking! PRESS RELEASE - July 27, 2007 - For Immediate Release Doug Doppler - Certified Guitar Hero With the July 24, 2007 release of GUITAR HERO Encore Rocks the 80's, Favored Nations (Steve Vai's label) recording artist Doug Doppler is now a certified Guitar Hero. In early 2007 Doppler became part of the WaveGroup Sound family (the music production house most famous for their work on the GH series), and contributed six tracks to the latest addition in the million-selling GH franchise. "Play with Me" (made famous by Extreme) serves as the Furious Fretwork Encore (hardest to play) track on this release, and demonstrates Doppler's Guitar Hero skills. Not entirely surprising considering that Doug is a former student of Joe Satriani... About Doug Doppler In addition to his work with WaveGroup Sound, Doppler tours internationally both as a recording artist and as a clinician. Shortly before returning to serve as the support act for guitar legend Michael Schenker's U.S. summer tour, Doppler did an extensive clinic tour in Italy and the UK for Ibanez guitars, by whom he's endorsed. In August, Doppler will be heading "Down Under" for an Ibanez clinic tour in Australia and New Zealand. An avid music educator, Doug was chosen by Satriani to take over teaching duties at the Berkeley, CA studio where Joe taught the likes of Doug and Kirk Hammet of Metallica, whom Doppler referred. After being recruited by WaveGroup Sound, Doug retired from teaching privately, but passes on the torch via his Guitar 411 instructional DVD series. Whammy Bar Mojo, the second title in the highly acclaimed Guitar411 series was released Spring of 2007. 7.1.07 UPDATE: MSG Tour Cancelled: After 11 amazing shows I regret to inform you that the Michael Schenker tour has come to a premature end for reasons beyond our control. Michael, his band and his crew treated us like royalty, and we look forward to the possibility of touring together again. For all of you who came to the shows - MANY thanks. For those of you in the cities we had yet to play, I am sorely disappointed that the tour did not reach you. I am hoping to be back out on the road in the Spring of 2008. In the meantime I will be doing a series of Ibanez clinic tours, the first of which will be in New Zealand and Australia in August.
